This time, I want to share with you the details of an exciting project I had the privilege of working on: the creation of the online store for grinders, HippieCat. Throughout this blog, we will explore the tools and technologies I used to develop this unique website, as well as some standout features I implemented. Additionally, we will discover how I overcame payment gateway restrictions and optimized the shopping experience with a special wholesale section. Let’s get started!

Tools and Technologies Used:

To create the HippieCat online store, I fully leveraged the capabilities of WordPress and WooCommerce, two of the most popular and versatile platforms for e-commerce website development. These tools provided me with a solid foundation and great flexibility to customize the store according to the client’s needs.

1. Bloksy Theme:
   I chose the Bloksy theme for HippieCat due to its modern approach and adaptive design. Bloksy provided a robust structure with a wide variety of customizable blocks and elements, allowing me to create an attractive and optimized design for selling cannabis grinders.
2. WooCommerce:
   As one of the most popular e-commerce plugins for WordPress, WooCommerce was the perfect choice to manage and oversee all aspects of the online store. It allowed me to easily add and configure products, set prices, manage inventory, and process payments.
3. Elementor:
   To create custom pages and designs with ease, I used the Elementor page builder. This powerful visual creation tool enabled me to drag and drop elements, add sections, customize colors and fonts, and create a smooth and engaging browsing experience for HippieCat visitors.
4. RankMath:
   To optimize the online store’s SEO and improve its visibility on search engines, I integrated the RankMath plugin. This allowed me to optimize meta tags, titles, descriptions, and permalinks, ensuring that HippieCat stood out in relevant search results.

Overcoming Payment Gateway Restrictions:

One of the key challenges I faced while developing HippieCat was working within the restrictions of some payment gateways in the industry. To ensure a smooth and secure shopping experience, we opted to use PayPal, Venmo, and CashApp payment gateways. These options allowed us to offer a wide variety of popular and reliable payment methods while complying with the regulations and restrictions applicable to the cannabis sector.

Abandoned Cart Recovery via Email:

With the goal of increasing conversions and recovering lost sales, we implemented a plugin that enabled abandoned cart recovery via email. This functionality allowed us to send automated and personalized emails to customers who left products in their carts without completing the purchase. By reminding them of the items they had left behind and offering additional incentives, we managed to increase the conversion rate and encourage purchase completion.

Special Wholesale Section:

In order to attract wholesale customers and offer them competitive prices, we developed an exclusive section on HippieCat called “HippieCat for Stores.” In this section, customers who purchased a specific quantity of cannabis grinders could obtain better prices. For example, if a customer bought between 10 and 39 grinder units, the price per unit was reduced to $25.00 USD. If the customer bought more than 40 units, the price per unit decreased further to $22.50 USD. This strategy allowed us to attract wholesale customers and encourage larger, more profitable sales.
